Magic on a hot fall's night

We threw a little house concert/poetry reading last night to honor our old friend Scott Ezell's forthcoming book "Petroglyph Americana". The book is an extended narrative poem that reads like a ripping travel adventure. It's a gorgeously crafted and spot-on study of the joys and constraints that our human behavior has wrought upon the planet.

The musical portion of the evening was rich and lovely with Scott's friends Doug Newton and Kia accompanying him for a rousing set of tunes. Marc and Philip Batchelder provided spice on the mandolin and violin, respectively. Everyone enjoyed the blend of music and poetry all performed against the backdrop of a late September night sky-- Jupiter winked at us from above as the sun sank into the bay.
